Italy is the land of opera. Many world-famous composers were born in Italy, such as Rossini, Verdi, Donizetti, Bellini and Puccini, just to name a few. Among the most famous opera seasons worldwide, Verona stands out for its unique location. The Arena dates back to Roman times and is a large open-air theatre where Verdi’s Aida was traditionally held with live elephants. The charm of this setting makes even grander the spectacular staging and performances of singers, who are always some of the greatest opera singers worldwide.
