Day 2 – Urbino, Gradara
Breakfast at the hotel and departure to Urbino, a unique jewel in the world of beauty and wisdom, emblem of the Italian Renaissance. Since 1998, its historical city center has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Meeting with the local guide and visit of the historical city center and the Doge’s Palace. Lunch in a restaurant and continuation to Gradara for the guided tour. Gradara Castle and its fortified village represent one of the best preserved medieval structures in Italy. La Rocca, located on a hill 142 meters above sea level, is known for the love story of Paolo Malatesta and Francesca da Rimini, made immortal by the verses of Canto V of Dante’s Inferno. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 3 – Ancona, Recanati, Offagna
Breakfast at the hotel and departure to Ancona. Meeting with the local guide and visit of the city, starting from the Cathedral of San Ciriaco, located in a panoramic point. Lunch in a restaurant and continuation to Recanati, the town that gave birth and where Giacomo Leopardi lived. Guided tour of Palazzo Leopardi and the “Colle dell’Infinito” from which you can admire an extensive panorama. Return to the hotel with a stop in Offagna, a typically medieval village with its splendid fifteenth-century fortress. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 4 – Cingoli, Jesi
Breakfast at the hotel and departure to the small village of Cingoli, called the Balcony of the Marche for the incomparable view of the five Marche provinces. Continue to Jesi for lunch in a restaurant and guided tour. Jesi is a treasure trove of history, art, culture in the middle of the hills, halfway between the sea and the mountains. Surrounded by one of the best preserved walls in the region, with six doors, towers and curtains crowned by corbels, it has the title of Unesco “exemplary city” for its ability to preserve a highly suggestive secular architectural, artistic and cultural heritage. At the end of the visit, tasting of Verdicchio, the most awarded still white wine in Italy. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 5 – Fabriano and the Frasassi Caves
Breakfast at the hotel and departure to Fabriano, a Unesco Creative City. Fabriano is the City of Paper, of the Paper Mills which today mainly produce banknote paper but which was once famous for F4 drawing sheets. In the Museum of Paper and Watermark it is possible to walk the historical journey of paper, starting from the hand-made paper up to the exposure of watermarks. Lunch in a restaurant with tasting of the renowned Fabriano salami, a typical salami with lardelli from the Marche region, Slow Food Presidium and promoted by the Production and Protection Consortium. In the afternoon, visit of the Frasassi Caves, one of the largest underground complexes in Europe where it is possible to admire natural sculptures formed by stratifications
limestone over 190 million years thanks to the work of water and rock. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 6 – Return to your area
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure of the group and end of our services.
