Aosta Valley: castles and culinary specialties

This itinerary will let you discover the wonders of this small but beautiful region. Its valleys, surrounded by high mountains, have preserved the history of this region, with its castles, different languages and culinary specialties.

You will visit the city of Aosta and its monuments, dating back to Roman times, as well as other charming tourist locations, like Courmayeur.

An important part of the tour will be dedicated to visiting ancient castles that guarded strategic passages or were home to local noble families, such as the Fort Bard, the Fenis castle and the Sarre castle. In each area you may treat yourself to renowned local products such as the Fontina cheese and Lard d’Arnad, perhaps combined with delicious rye bread.
